For the Believer Allah Comes Before Everyone And Everything!
“Say my salat, my sacrifice, my living and my dying are for Allah, the lord of the worlds” (6: 162)
Knowledge of Allah only brings about the attachment of a persons heart to Him. While ignorance of Allah brings about disaster.
“Say (Oh Muhammad), “Is it other than Allah that you order me to worship, O ignorant ones?” (33: 60)
-Learning about Allah is in fact from the most important objectives of the two revelations, the Quran and the Sunnah! Do you not see that Allah dedicates the most important Surah’s and Ayat’s to describing Himself to His creation? Rather the whole of the Quran is about Allah:
“All praise/thanks are due to Allah, Lord of the worlds, The Most Merciful the Especially Merciful, Master…(Al-Faatihah)
“Allah, there is no one that deserves worship except Him, The Ever Living the Sustainer (of everything in existence)..” (ayaat Al Kursi)
“Read in the name of your Lord who created, Created man from a clot, Read and your Lord is Most Generous..” (Al-Alaq – the first ayat revealed)
-Knowledge of Allah increases a person in Love, Thanks, Reliance upon Him. Since they recognize the favours and gifts of Allah on them, which do not stop day/night. The end result is the person giving importance to whatever Allah made important!
“Indeed there has been an excellent example for you in Ibraheem and those with him, when they said to their people “Verily we are free from you and whatever you worship besides Allah We have denied you, and there has appeared between us and you animosity and hatred forever until you believe in Allah alone” (60:4)
-The most important thing in the sight of Allah is At-Tawheed which is the Greatest of Obligations:
“Say, “Come, I will recite what your Lord has prohibited to you. [He commands] that you not associate anything with Him, and to parents, good treatment..” (6:151)
-It is the right of Allah and the right of Allah comes before anyone else:
“Mu’adh bin Jabal reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “O Mu’adh, do you know what is the right of Allah upon His servants?” I said, “Allah and His messenger know best.” The Prophet said, “To worship Him alone and to associate none in worship with Him. And do you know what is their right upon Him?” I said, “Allah and His messenger know best.” The Prophet said, “Not to punish them if they do so.” (Bukhari)
Amongst the Fruits of this knowledge are:
-The more a person increases in the knowledge of Allah, the more he increases in awe and fear of Him:
“It is only those who have knowledge among His slaves that fear Allaah” (35:28)
-The more a person learns about His lord the more he begins to love only those things Allah loves and begins to hate those things that Allah hates:
The Messenger of Allaah (may Allaah raise his rank and grant him peace) said: ““Verily the strongest handhold of faith is that you love for the sake of Allah and that you hate for the sake of Allah.” [Ahmad]
– The more a person studies Tawheed the more he follows in the footsteps of the Messenger (Sallallahualaihi wa sallam):
“But no, by your Lord, they can have no Faith, until they make you (O Muhammad) judge in all disputes between them, and find in themselves no resistance against your decisions, and accept (them) with full submission.” (4:65)
-The more a person learns about Allah the less he is affected by the difficulties of this life:
“No disaster strikes except by permission of Allah. And whoever believes in Allah – He will guide his heart. And Allah is Knowing of all things.” (64:11)
